PKBR Staff Writer Published 13 November 2017

Corrugated packaging firm Smurfit Kappa has opened a new bag-in-box experience center in Épernay, France.

The center features advanced technology and interactive displays, which will exhibit the films, taps and boxes with vast information and technical expertise.

It will enable customers to gain knowledge on the bag-in-box solutions offered by the company. Customers can also test the products in the library.

With the new centre, Smurfit Kappa’s experience centers increase to 18. The firm’s global experience center is situated in Schiphol, Amsterdam.

Bag-in-box solutions can be used to extend the shelf life of liquid or semi-liquid food products or as a convenient packaging solution for industrial products.

The outer box offers protection during transit and is made by using corrugated cardboard or solid board. Each bag is specifically constructed to preserve the exact liquid inside.

Bag-in-box solutions are available in various sizes ranging from two to 1000 litres of liquid volume.

The solutions can be used in various applications, including beverages, dairy, fruit and vegetables and other foods.

Smurfit Kappa bag-in-box Epernay general manager said: “Customers coming to the Experience Centre can evaluate all the processes of production and see with their own eyes the quality standards that Smurfit Kappa Bag-in-Box has adopted over the years.

“Our production plants are certified worldwide, recognised for their modern equipment and strict procedures to ensure with food packaging regulations.”
