DS Smith to exhibit bag-in-box packaging at Unified Wine and Grape Symposium

PKBR Staff Writer Published 17 January 2018

DS Smith’s business units Rapak and Worldwide Dispensers will exhibit bag-in-box wine packaging and filling machines at the Unified Wine and Grape Symposium in the US.

The event will take place between 24 and 25 January at the Sacramento Convention Center in California.

At the event, Rapak will exhibit its bag-in-box wine bags and filling equipment, while Worldwide Dispensers will showcase bag-in-box dispensing solutions.

Rapak Oxygen Scavenger wine bags, along with Mustang wine dispensing tap, will expand shelf life of the product.

Rapak will also exhibit its AutoKap 600 filling machine, which is a small footprint and semi-automatic filler.

Worldwide Dispensers will showcase its advanced wine dispensing tap solutions for stand-up pouches and bag-in-box applications.

Rapak sales vice president Bill O’Rourke said: “We have been attending the Wine Show for the last ten years and are looking forward to presenting our latest innovations in premium wine packaging this year – our Oxygen Scavenger Bag System and the Mustang Tap, which offers the lowest Oxygen Transmission Rate (OTR) in the market.”

Recently, Worldwide Dispensers has launched a new dispensing tap, VINIflow, for bag-in-box edible oil.

The tap has been developed to provide smooth pouring flow and maintain oil viscosity while serving from bag-in-box packaging.

DS Smith’s new tap, which complies with new legislation, is an expansion of the VINIflow tap that is used for different bag-in-box product applications such as wine, juice, dairy and water.

The new dispensing tap is a self closing pull-tap that includes smooth and comfortable levers to dispense product by using one hand.
