PKBR Staff Writer Published 02 May 2018

UK-based flexible packaging solutions provider B&G Products has ordered another stand-up pouch machine for an undisclosed sum in a bid to increase production of its plastic free Earthpouch.

Planned to be installed at undisclosed facility, the new machine will be able to manufacture side gusset, flat, Stand-Up Pouches and B&G’s Plastic Free Earthpouchs.

The new machines will feature the latest technologies available in pouch making including laser guidance, auto tack hole registration, double cut, and ultrasonic crush technology, among others.

B&G Products director Peter Ralten said: “B&G is at the forefront of innovation, investing in technology and people for continuous improvement. Our new Pouch Line was chosen for its ability to produce our Certified Ovenable Stand Up Pouch, Plastic Free Earthpouch and expand our product range even further this year.”

The B&G Products’ grease, water, and moisture resistant Earthpouch is made from a special type of paper, which incorporates a 100% plastic free heat-sealable coating.

The material is formed using a pouch manufacturing process to produce the Stand Up Pouches, which can be used for food security for dry and moist food products.

Additionally, Earthpouch is said to be recyclable, repulpable, compostable, and sustainable.

The firm said it has recently purchased a new pouch conversion machinery to boost its production capacity.

B&G Products is engaged n manufacturing re-usable bags and pouches to its customers

Its products include insulated re-usable coolbags, the trolley bags, mini-grip bags, turkey bags, mail order bags, stand-up pouches including retort & microwave, quad (side gusset) bags, flat pouches and bespoke bags.
